Two Foundations launched by maverick American entrepreneurs... Brilliant community college students from low-income backgrounds transferring to some of the nation's elite universities... Dedicated young men and women embarking on careers teaching science and mathematics...

These stories and more are part of DCI's exciting new publicity campaigns for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, which champions high-achieving lower-income students, and the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, an advocate for improving the quality of science and mathematics teaching in U.S. high schools.

The goal of both campaigns: generate national awareness in today’s highly competitive philanthropic environment. DCI's first order of business was to ensure the clients’ missions and commitment resonated through all press materials. DCI then focused on writing media-friendly biographies of remarkable scholars, and media training spokespeople to prepare for interviews.
DCI's first wave of media outreach is focusing on bridging Foundation messages to real stories of scholars and teachers -- while tying in larger education trends and issues. Initial media coverage has included the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE, DETROIT NEWS, NPR and CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO, with much more to come.
